First time poster here, but my guess is Brad Pitt. Here's why:
He was in a movie called The Image"-"but it's all about the image isn't it?"
movie Happy together-"transporting his happy"
Movie Confessions of a Dangerous Mind-"...isn't what usually comes to mind."
Movie The Devils Own-"own your own sh*t , you know?"
Legends of the Fall-"allowing someone else to take the fall."
Lastly, I think the reference to travelling is from The Time Traveller's Wife which Pitt is producing.

What about Ryan Gosling? He is an acclaimed actor, around Heath Ledgers age so he should know better. He is involved in many causes including Darfur and idolized by many for his accomplishments.
I like the Joaquin Phonenix guess too. And he should really know better.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers?
I am just throwing this name in cause he might fit in a way too, but I really think it's Leo.
And about Joaquin btw, has the same assistant for a while now, for a few years actually & would he be described as impish?

I like the Leo guess so far. Clooney came to mind too, but I figure he's gone the prescription route on his vices.

and Ryan was recently fired from a film for his problems with the director,
Quote:
Ryan Gosling Fired From 'Lovely Bones'
Filmmaker Peter Jackson fired actor Ryan Gosling from movie Lovely Bones because he was "too demanding", according to reports.
It was alleged Gosling "stepped down" from the movie and was replaced by Mark Wahlberg - but Jackson in fact axed the 26-year-old, reports New York gossip column, PageSix.
A source says, "Peter couldn't stand Ryan.
"Ryan cut his own hair, and was fighting with wardrobe. He was so demanding... Peter booted him two days before filming started."
The Lovely Bones, the movie adaptation of Alice Sebold's bestseller, also stars Rachel Weisz - and will be released next year

I saw a picture of him recently and he dropped a lot of the flab...fast!
it could be him...he is an acclaimed actor.

^He gained that weight specifically for the role, so it is understandable that he lost it. He didn't look skinny to me at the SAG awards so I don't think he's lost all that weight that fast.
I haven't read the book but I think I read that some felt he was too young for the role to begin with.

The only reason I don't think it's Ryan Gosling is because Lainey seems to adore him. I think she would've made a mention of that, somehow. Like how in the Holiday Detox blind, she mentioned looking at the star with blinders on and hating to report something bad about them. It sounds like she doesn't like the guy in this blind, regardless of his selfishness with the drugs.

Orlando's "assistant" is male and has been with him for years. Besides, I think his agent carries his drugs for him. Also, he's not what you'd call acclaimed.
