She isn’t eating. She hasn’t been eating for weeks, hellbent on losing what she calls some extra padding but what everyone else calls … nothing. There is nothing to lose. But still she needs to lose it.

Started dieting furiously a couple of months ago but wasn’t seeing results quickly enough so she’s cut back the food and as a result has turned into a total hag, chewing people out during production meetings, yelling at catering staff for daring to bring food near her, and getting into a little shoving match with her own publicist, who has the unfortunate position of having to attend to her as she ramps up promotion, over scheduling.

On the plus side, she is indeed growing ever slimmer. But the thinness is now accompanied by a telltale glassy look in her eyes which isn’t entirely unfamiliar. Being skinny can make you dependent and cranky and weak…

Which is why she hasn’t been able to finish a day’s work all week, always begging off early, complaining of the flu, or a migraine...and now the project is behind schedule, her agent has been called, and a talking-to is in the works. Career not in jeopardy… yet. But probably soon if she doesn’t start eating.

Oh duh, I just realized that the word "hellbent" is in the blind. Selma Blair is in the Hellboy movies. The next one Hellboy II: The Golden Army comes out this July.

I believe I read that Selma sought inpatient treatment for an eating disorder in the past year. I think I read it on Lainey's site in fact. I don't think it's her.

The New & Improved Selma Blair

Once upon a time, Selma Blair stopped eating – she was Nicole Richie before Nicole Richie. This year, Selma Blair quietly went to rehab. It apparently IS possible to go to rehab without fanfare.

Almost 12 months later, and as you can see, Selma Blair looks amazing.

Here she is last night at the Chanel Nuit de Diamants event in New York showing off a lean but healthy figure and one of the best short hair faces in the business.

Selma can be seen in My Mom’s New Boyfriend next month starring Antonio Banderas and Meg Ryan due out February 22.

What’s the difference between Selma Blair, Eva Mendes, and my Kiki compared to Lindsay Lohan and Paris and Britney and even Kiefer Sutherland…?

Selma, Eva, and Kiki went to rehab without first getting behind the wheel and trying to kill people. They went to rehab quietly, without mounting public pressure, and not as part of a public relations strategy to regain public and professional support. It’s all about motivation, non?

Selma’s stay occurred about a year ago. By all accounts, she has managed to stay clean. And she certainly looks healthier than she has in a long time. Healthy, thin, but not starving, and very chic with a severe fringe in sparkly black. Love.

Yeah I thought Selma was in rehab for drugs (coke I think) but I guess the by-product of that is looking like a bag o' bones.
