Would be sad because the impression I got of Barrowman was of a very nice and genuine person.
LOL - I just downloaded all three series from YouTube when I found out about that (I can't get TV reception in my house, but damn, Spike AND Captain Jack in the one frame?! Yes please! ) so I'm on a Barrowman overload, which is probably why I thought of it too. And Yes - I had thought he was a pretty stand up kind of guy.

But he has mentioned in interviews that he feels it is impossible for a male to be monogamous, and that is something females can't accept but need to understand (?!). And they did talk about adopting last year, with his partner of, like, forever.
Plus, it's hard to narrow down an openly gay male actor in that age group in a long term relationship - who'd also be using a personal trainer. He's not ripped, but he is pretty fit...But I hope it's not!

I'll go with the Barrowman guess. I think it's probably him.

David Hyde Pierce is a good guess. I thought of Ian McKellan, but I don't know if he has a partner. Plus he's 70 so I don't know if he'd be adopting.
You're right of course. Actually I have another guess: Alan Cumming. From Wikipedia:

He wed graphic artist Grant Shaffer in a civil ceremony at the Old Royal Naval College Greenwich on January 7, 2007. The couple met in 2004 and dated for two years before the union. In a profile for The Times, he stated that he "would dearly like to adopt a child."[15] In March 2005, he was honoured with the Vito Russo Award at the 16th Annual GLAAD Media Awards for outstanding contributions toward eliminating homophobia.

Just a guess!
Denis O'Hare. Openly gay, 47, on everybody's radar lately for landing the role of the vampire King of Mississippi on True Blood. Tony award winner, starred in Milk. Don't know anything about his personal relationships.

I'm on the Doogie bandwagon. I've heard rumors he's breaking up with his long term boyfriend.
