This is obviously a sham. why is spielberg going to hire cruises son to be in his movie if he hates him so much? why is he going to put will in his movie, a friend of toms?

i think everyone so invested in this story just wants to believe it so they can actually HAVE a reason to hate tom.

somebody clearly has a lot of time on their hands to make a story like this.

and no im not a scientologist, i should make that clear before the childish taunts come in.

im just not gullible. especially when it seems as if spielberg is on toms friendly side.

people just need their reason to hate and will believe ANYTHING even if its not true to coincide with their "reasons" just to have one, so they wont feel stupid for hating for no reason.

More from Lainey on the Oprah/Tom Cruise reclamation project. I'm not sure what Oprah is getting out of this, but she's getting something for sure. Has Tom gotten dirt on her from the Scientology goons?

He was just breaking out at the time and they split because of conflicting schedules. Apparently he was awkward then – clearly things haven’t changed much. According to Cher, he was super reserved, always an outcast in school:
"He was shy. He said he felt like such a boob in school and nobody talked to him. We went on a date once for dinner in a New York restaurant and the waitress was from his old school. He told me she never talked to him back in school, but now he was recognised he got all her attention.”

Cher went on to hint at an evening of great passion – she called it a “long night” spent wrapped in his arms. At this point, Cher_tells_Oprah_Winfrey_she_and_Tom_Cruise_could_have_had_great_romance.aspx#" target="_blank">Oprah’s little lambs do as they always do on these occasions: bursting into hysterics, whooping and hollering in the aisles, almost fainting with excitement. Must have been the same crowd that did the same thing 3 years ago when he jumped on her couch. Not sure what was freakier – his incessant fist pumps or an audience that did NOT seem to be alarmed in the least.

The point?

Cher, the gay icon, is not so subtly asserting to Oprah’s congregation that the GMD is in fact NOT the GMD. Because a young gay man just discovering his gay would never, ever, ever find himself just a little bit in love with Cher, right???

I saw somewhere that Sonny was a member of CO$ and was trying to leave it when he died. Maybe Cher also has a connection?

I thought I had heard that Sonny actually did leave Co$ when he was in Congress, but the Co$ was so vicious that he had to enlist the help of the FBI.

Maybe this is Tom's way of saying "I'll shut up about Scientology if you all keep up the charade that I'm straight, and let me get on with life with my fake wife and her ex-boyfriend's daughter. I'll even trot out some more exes like coincidently gay-icon Cher (who's next, Liza Minelli?) just to prove how heterofab I am, and then I'll disappear into my new fortress home and get on with being an Elron groupie in peace". Elron didn't much care for the gays, according to his "tone scale".

I'd love to believe this, but Tom's too much of a famewhore and zealot to STFU.

The GMD and All His Friends

Just skimming through the Goddess Oprah’s interview with the cast of Sex & the City. Duana had already warned me but seriously… why does she ask the most ignorant questions? Surely she doesn’t need to dumb it down that much for the MiniVan Majority, does she?

Sorry. I digress.

At the end of the piece, there’s a teaser on her two Tom Cruise episodes. As you would expect, the Mighty Opes recruited a long list of celebrities to stand up for the GMD. To talk on Monday about how amazing he is. That he’s a great person/father/husband/freak.

Among them: Will and Jada, David and Victoria, Jamie Foxx, Dustin Hoffman, Renee Zellweger, Dakota Fanning (the future Emmy Rossum), and Steven Spielberg.

Not exactly nobodies.

So she’s trotting them all out, via satellite or in person, extolling the GMD’s virtues to the millions and millions who watch her show. TWO episodes devoted to Tom Cruise.

Through Oprah he will find salvation.

Perhaps his Oprah appearance is part of the "show if he had any acting skills" part of the blind? Spielberg pretends he's forgiven all with the GMD to put him at ease and then get the drop on him later.
