For the person who asked about if someone can be in Scientology without paying money, here's how their system works.

First, you have the publics, the rank and file of COS. They're the ones that pay money for their courses and books and what not, but still have lives outside of the church and jobs. They don't know about the shady stuff, but are fleeced for money when threats come up, like the Anon movement, or for the latest campaign again psychiatry.

Second is the celebs. They pay too, and donate, but get 100% ass-kissing too to be kept happy. There's rumors that they also get a diluted version of Scientology's material, without all the crazy stuff, but GMD seems to be a walking example of that rumor being false since he's only crazier.

Third, is the staff. They're the poor schmucks that actually work in all those org building and get the brunt of what COS is really all about. Most of them are normal people that don't have large amounts of money and resources, so they work for practically free 'volunteering' to move up and get more classes. They get commissions on bringing in more people or 'raw meat', and selling courses and books.

Then there's Sea Org. This is where the bad stuff happens. Like staff, they work off commissions too, and work the orgs that are understaffed like scabs. They crew the Freewind's boat, the COS's ship, operate the big buildings in Clearwater, FL, and LA, and get only 50$ a week living wages doing it. Female members are pressured into having abortions if they wind up pregenant while in Sea Org (read Astra Woodcraft's story on exscientologykids.com), families are split up, and they all live in horrible group conditions. Think of it like the army barracks in 1984. People are encouraged to rat on each other to get ahead, make fun of those that are 'downstat', and are worked like dogs while being treated in horrible conditions. Meals are usually rice and beans if they eat at all. But, hey, they signed up for it for free classes, right?

Then there's the RPF, Rehabilitation Project Force, where staff and Sea Org members that somehow break any of the rules get put into this 'special voluntary counseling'. There's a document on wikileaks that details all the conditions of this better than I can, but it is pretty much akin to free slave labor for COS, willing or not.

Lastly, there's other divisions as well, the ones on top mostly. The OSA, which is Scientology's spy and dirty tricks section, the ones that are monitoring the web, and the Anon movement. There's also the RTC, which controls all of the COS's copyrights, and arguably, the money too. Then there's the Commadore's Office, which is where the Angry Leader Midget of COS rules from all on high.

There's also all the many front groups too. CCHR, which says it's about human rights, but is really against Psychiatry and lobbies against it. Narconon, their anti-drug thing, which is really about selling Scientology to addicts. WISE, which sells Scientology to businesses. These are only ones I can remember off the top of my head too.

If the other Anon has any more to say on these, please jump in since I feel like I'm forgetting something here. >.<

Here's hoping this makes sense.

Wow and yikes.
Don't they have some sort of cult help program?
They bought a legit website that helps people, and
now use it to convert them?

I live in the Tampa Bay area and this article was in the local section of the St. Pete Times... Hooray for Anonymous!!

Pet lovers and Scientology critics converge on Clearwater

By Jonathan Abel, Times Staff Writer
Published Saturday, April 12, 2008 9:24 PM
Members of the group Anonymous line Cleveland Street in Clearwater on Saturday in a protest of the Church of Scientology.

CLEARWATER — Clearwater's petite downtown district was primed for the perfect storm on Saturday.
On one end of downtown, 135 masked members of the group Anonymous began gathering at about 10 a.m. to protest the Church of Scientology.
Just a few blocks away, animal lovers brought their dogs for Clearwater's annual pet fair, which was unrelated to the church.
The dark-suited, boisterous protestors might have disrupted the owner-pet look-a-like contest and other festivities, but the two groups stayed apart. And Saturday's daylong protest — about half the size of the two preceding ones — ended with no arrests.
Anonymous, a loosely organized group that formed on the Internet, used the demonstration to target what it calls the church's "cruel and inhumane" policy. The group says that Scientology requires church members to disconnect from friends and relatives who have left the fold.
The group rented out the Royalty Theatre downtown and two former Scientologists — Mike Henderson and Creed Pearson — spoke about the pain they suffered from not being allowed to contact relatives still in the church.
"I can't speak to my brother or my four sisters," Henderson said in a tearful speech. "I have attempted to speak to my son and my daughter and my mother, to no avail."
After the presentation, Anonymous members, whom the church has likened to terrorists and Ku Klux Klansmen, retired to Coachman Park for pizza and cake.
The group made three circuits of downtown, shouting slogans and drawing honks from passing cars.
Scientologists sitting in front of Starbucks said they didn't care for the protesters.
"It's a group that just spews hate. Who has time for it?" said Dwight Matheny.
"They're like the barking dog at the wheels of a fire engine going to a fire," said Bob Johnson, 56, a Scientologist visiting from California.
Church spokeswoman Pat Harney said Henderson and Pearson, not the church, are to blame for their broken family relationships.
"If they want to take responsibility for past wrongs and repair their relations with their families," she said, "the church would be more than happy to help."
The protest wrapped up just before 5 p.m. The group plans to return to Clearwater next month.

Geez this story is addictive. I cannot wait until Spielberg personally puts the final nail in Tommy boy's self-made coffin. Apparently he hasn't been able to get the Beckham's to drink the kool-aid and has decided that Posh is a bad influence on Kate - something about being too skinny, go figure??

Does Travolta have the clout anymore to be Mystery Man? I don't know who else it could be, but he doesn't ring true to me as Mystery Man.

Mr. mystery man, however, ranted they had already tried that and that it had failed. He said that if it hadn’t worked by now, it was never going to work and that it was time that would sink in with Mr. moviestar and a few others. But Mr. moviestar insisted they had not failed, it would take longer than they’d expected but that in the end they would succeed.
it probably is Travolta...rumor has it that He & Cruise don't get along.

and Travolta would probably love to get on board for a Spielberg film

Eh, I bet KatE is only getting skinny because the only thing she can control in her life is her bod. What else is there for her to do besides shop?

Either that's a troll question, or you need to lurk moar maybe?

But, I'll answer it anyway.

Welcome to Campus TV homepage

That vid is of a PR Scientologist in the Netherlands claiming that Anon protesters are paid by the Pharmaceutical Industry.

That right there is what is called a win, the euphoria you get when something really, really, really good happens. ^o^

I'll bet JT is Mystery Man. Though his name is closely tied wtih the C0$, he doesn't talk about it unless specifically asked. There isn't a lot in the news about him being at their events either. My guess is that he's playing nice so they don't reveal his secrets.

If that's the case, it's a damn shame. I think a gay JT would be 1000x more successful than a closeted/blackmailed one.

The problem with the Anon/Legion protests is that unless the crazy from the Co$ picks up, the protests will lose their novelty. The one in Clearwater was what.. half the size of the first couple? Sure, it might have been in the center of the lions den but come on, there should have been more people.

Already they're a bit old news.. nobody really covered the one in march or the one in April so far.

I'd suggest Anonymous/Legion kick it up a notch or else watch the entire thing fizzle till the GMD does something abysmally stupid. Bigger, better, bolder.
