She did send me an email this afternoon and said the website she mentioned earlier would be up soon now, and people should just read the rest of the story on there from now on. Or on the British forum and newsgroup she's posting on.

People are lapping this story up, because they believe it, regardless of whether the paper is based in London or Bumfuck , Mississippi.

Trying to discredit the source is futile, methinks.

Sorry I don't care where this story is from, it rings true to me. Over on the Clambake forums they were questioning how someone could report word-for-word all these different private conversations. I worked for years for an entertainment lawyer and I sat metres away from many famous clients telling intimate stories about their problems - legal and otherwise. And we'd always be kept up to date by phone or email, so it's highly likely there are people out there who know all the details without actually witnessing everything.

Having said that, I totally believe this is coming directly from Spielberg's camp, intentionally.

I agree and I think lack of a direct source is a good way to get the story out and also to deflect any attempts by the CO$ to smother it. And by spreading it via gossip blogs and forums its a great way to get the story out. I mean look at Lohan's fake porngate and how quickly that spread.
I just hope we get more instalments- I think we are just seeing the first offensive shots against CO$. Personally I think there will be more interesting things coming up later especially when Tommy Boy does the media blitz for his movie- just a feeling I have

Gossip blogs are probably at this point one of the worst weapons against the CoS.

Gossips blogs have HUGE readerships -- in the millions when you add them all up, information like this is being spread to a huge cross section of the population. More people are going to read about Tommy Girl and his shenanigans and be put off the church than embrace it.

Add to the mix stories like this and it's not good news for them.

I'm thinking Spielberg knows what he's doing, leaking information knowing it will make the rounds of the internets.

I can't WAIT to see what happens when it's time for Tom to promote his movie. I can't recall him speaking to anyone since the crazy video leaked, and so much has happened since with Anonymous, Jenna Miscavige etc.

If he wasn't involved as a producer I'd imagine he wouldn't be allowed within a hundred miles of the press, but with his enormous ego and his belief that he's completely in the right about Scientology, I predict fireworks that will make his "Fuck you! No really, Fuck you!" rant look like a nursery rhyme.

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I think the lack of Suri-sightings is no coincidence, and this is the ace up Spielberg's sleeve.

Everytime Tom Cruise opens his maniacal gob, public opinion of Scientology decreases even further. This isn't the 80's, maybe.. early 90's where celebrities had some public pull. The general public are no longer impressed. Now they are a liability. Wacky videos, strange emails.

I wonder about the lack of Suri-sightings too. Is she holed up on the Freewinds somewhere or on some compound?

I can't wait for the press. I predict Tommy Girl going completely fucking nuts.
