I don't read it as saying Best Actor and no one on this list really stands out with the clues given, so it could also be supporting or writing(like Damon and Affleck). That said, I have nothing.

That's a great point - I completely missed that. The supporting actors list looks even less promising. However, Denzel Washington got a best supporting actor in 1989. Which opens up the possibilities for 10 years worth of naive ingenues.

Looking at the Best Supporting Actor list I see a few that seem like nice guys with a (great) smile but I don't know enough about them to see if the description fits.

Tim Robbins (although him and Susan Sarandon were never married, were they?)

Robin Williams... but I am pretty sure he never had a sex scene with a co-star
