I wanna go with Lucy Liu. She had quite a bit of popularity early/mid 2000's, but more recent stuff has been pretty small. I could see her trying to get more work and even though she doesn't look early 40's, I know that can be a taboo in Hollywood.

"The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits."
Lucy Liu is a NY'er born and raised. Not from Texas, like the blind says.
I'd add that 'asian' doesn't necessarily mean East Asian like Chinese/Korean, etc. India is in Asia, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, all the '-stans', etc.

All of God's children are not beautiful. Most of God's children are, in fact, barely presentable.
This makes no sense. How could Amazon gain access to her real birthdate from her credit card info? When you sign up for a pro account with IMDB it's like buying anything else online with a credit card. Unless Amazon has access to the personal data details database of every major credit card provider on the planet, I don't see how it could have possibly learned her birth date that way.
Maybe she had an Amazon wishlist under her real name with her birthday filled in. Amazon/IMDb sees the same credit card # and connects the dots.
Oh, what about Shannon Elizabeth? She's from Texas. Background is Lebanese/Syrian. Full name is Shannon Elizabeth Fadal (leaving off the last name can count as a stage name, I think). She's only 38 but I could still see someone that age concerned about there being no roles for 40-year-olds, since it's coming up fast for her.
^^ Good guess, but I thought Lebanese were considered to be of Caucasian descent rather than Asian.
I've been reading its this chick:
Ally Maki - IMDb
Her birthday is not listed... so either its not her or IMDB took it off. My first thought was Sandra Oh or Bai Ling.
I HIGHLY doubt that some minion at Amazon checks wishlists with the purpose of CROSS REFERENCING birthdates with IMDB.
Let's get real.
IMDB has been filling in birth dates and other personal details of actors, details that were not provided by said actors themselves, since forever -- waaaaaay before Amazon bought IMDB.
Anybody can submit info to Amazon. No doubt somebody who knows this actress's real birthdate submitted it.
Either that or this is all just an attempt at a publicity stunt.
I'm so glad you doubt that, since to believe so would be quite ridiculous. Programs are built to do this sort of thing automatically. Yes, there is software in those computers, not little elves!I HIGHLY doubt that some minion at Amazon checks wishlists with the purpose of CROSS REFERENCING birthdates with IMDB.
She should come out, at least she'll get some publicity since she's not know enough that we can't figure out who she is.
You don't think web pages can populate themselves? No wonder you're confused. (And when did anyone say a database built itself? Please try to follow along.) You should look up "dynamic web pages." To take one example, when you're on Amazon and they suggest books to you based on what you've browsed previously, that is the software indeed populating the web page by itself, based on the info you feed it. Just because this simple technology is beyond your personal comprehension does not make it impossible.
(And that's just with a cookie -- they can build much more robust profiles with info such as a credit card #.)
The wishlist bday was just a possibility I threw out to show how they could've figured out her bday, since someone here asked how it was possible. Maybe she supplied it to one of Amazon's many other companies, who knows.
Anyway, feel free to keep babbling confusedly but I'm here for the guesses. Got any of those?
Anyone from Iran, Iraq, Lebanon and so forth would be described as Middle-Eastern not Asian.
