Panache Report 12/18/08: Pathetic and Disgusting
Myra wrote:
BLIND ITEM: (PATHETIC & DISGUSTING)
This very well known black celebrity recently had a party. His famous buddy joined him in the festivities.
Imagine our shock and disgust when a male source working security that night, told us the following:
"The security staff was told before the start of the party to prevent dark skinned black women from coming on stage, and to keep dark skinned black women out of the VIP area."
Our source was shocked, so much so, it reminded him of the civil rights era when blacks of all shades were discriminated against by racist whites. Now, sadly, you have blacks discriminating against blacks.
Ironically, the celebrity himself is browned skinned along with his famous buddy.
When a dark skinned lady accidentally got by security and ventured into VIP, our black male celebrity, who was sitting at a table surrounded by white, latin and mixed women, went ballistic and demanded she be ejected.
Across the room, his famous buddy who was in the company of his "abused lady friend," and was verbally dressing her down-clowning her. She took the verbal abuse. She just seemed thrilled to be in his company
Who is the black celebrity?
Who is his famous buddy?
I'm thinking this is Jamie Foxx and Puffy/Diddy/whatever the fuck his name is this week. I've heard that Jamie Foxx is color-struck and dates interracially on the low as not to offend his black female fans. He recently had a baby by an Armenian woman.
strikes me as someone who would be ignorant enough to be color-struck too. The "abused lady friend" would be Puffy's babymama, Kim Porter. She's put up quite a bit with his bullshit (and rumored beatdowns)
As an African American, I know the issue of colorism all too well. It's a shame that this stupid mentality is still so pervasive in our community...It really is pathetic and disgusting.

Jamie Foxx recently had an album release or birthday party and Diddy was there, rubbing his ass all up on Jamie (yeah, I think both guys are on the DL). And I think Diddy threw a b-day party for Kim a few days ago. So it all fits.

Sadly, this doesn't surprise me, my hubby is from west africa, and at times has had worse discrimination from black-skinned americans than white-skinned.

Not surprised about shade discrimination, has been going on a long time. Yaphet Koto who played Lt. Giardello on Homicide:Life on the Streets, said in an interview in People Magazine that black women would not date him when he was young because he was to dark skinned for them.
