New York Daily News Gatecrasher 04/11/08
Which rising young actress was informed at a recent film party that Jane Fonda wanted to meet her? "I don't give a [bleep]," came the jaded response.

Scarlett?

Although it could be any actress brat indulging her inner diva, it could also be someone who has strong political interests and disagrees with Jane Fonda's renowned standpoints. Anyone know if Natalie Portman is a candidate for this?

I think Natalie is pretty liberal, IIRC, so I don't know that her views would clash so much in general.
"rising young actress" sounds like someone less established than Johansson or Portman.

^ I agree. It sounds more like a actress new to the scene. Could be anyone really!

I'd tell Hanoi Jane to take a flying leap too. Probably Heidi Montag since she's voting for McCain.

Ellen Page. They were both at the premiere party for "Smart People" the other night.

I can go with this one! I would have met Jane though, there is nothing like snubbing Hollywood Royalty when one is basking in their own worthiness!

Ellen Page strikes me as someone who would be thrilled to meet Jane Fonda.
I doubt Jane wants to meet Heidi Montag.
Scarlett is pretty liberal-she's a well known supporter of Obama, so I doubt she would snub Jane on political grounds.
No idea who it could be.

Katherine Hiegle? There has been lots of stories about her bitchy ass behaviour- and I can see acting this way.
I hope its not Ellen Page, I like her and I also agree that its not her.

I like the Katherine Heigl guess. When I read this, I immediately thought it is probably someone who is politically conservative. That rules out 99% of the Hollywood starlets. Heigl was raised Mormon, and every Mormon I know is a staunch Republican. I think there's a good chance that she falls into that category as well.

I think Ellen Page might say something like that, but mean it in a different context. It seems like she wants to go against a lot of stereotypes and may think it better in the moment to play off a huge compliment by totally shooting it down instead of getting all giggly. A lot of quotes are taken out of context, and perhaps this is one of them?

I dont think it's any of the ones mentioned but I can't think of anyone it may be.
I don't consider Scarlett "rising." (I lurve her).
Ellen Page I think is too cool to be a bitch.
And Heigl is a rising shithead. Well, maybe she'd fit after all. HAHA

Plus, Heigl is just a snobby bitch, so it's probably her.

Whats the deal with Jane Fonda? I wouldn't be falling over myself to meet her either.
