Normally I would probably skip this one because of who it is, but what happened just deserves to be told because I definitely have not seen it happen before at such a public event. This guy is a C lister. He is an incredible actor and you would know his face, but probably not his name. Plays and films are what he does the most. He has been in some of the biggest films around. He is a guy that will one day get just that perfect role and get a supporting actor nod from Oscar. He is that good. He started acting when he was a kid and is in one of my favorite films of all time. Well, at an event this weekend, he took using drugs to a whole new extreme. There was no furtive coke use or smoking a joint out back. Nope, this guy did meth and lots of it. In the bathroom, outside during breaks in the event. Didn't care who saw him, didn't care where he did it. Carried the damn pipe in his hand when he wasn't using it. The thing is no one stopped him. No one turned him in, and by the end of the evening the guy was wired out of his mind. Crazy, crazy, crazy and then, just like that he was gone. He had been loud and obnoxious and crazy for so long, and then everyone realized the noise level had dropped and he was gone. No one even saw him leave.

^^Good guess due to the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I would be very upset if it was him tho.

If Sean Astin has done any plays, he hasn't done many. Whoever it is, it may be easier to search through actors who've appeared on B'way and on the West End than movies.

"and then, just like that he was gone. "
Isn't this a line from 'The Usual Suspects?' maybe it's one of those actors?

Yeah he's not known for plays. Sean Astin has also been nominated for an Oscar, not for acting though. I don't think it's him.

Oh, nicely spotted, Dixie! If you're right, this could be Stephen Baldwin. Isn't there another blind here somewhere about an actor who got his celeb brother hooked on something or other? I'm too sleepy to look for it now, but some kind soul out there might find it....

Hmmm...
This is a good one. Stephen Baldwin would be considered C list....but is he a GOOD actor???
I have no clue as usual.

I really can't imagine an Oscar in Stephen Baldwin's future.
His costar in The Usual Suspects Chazz Palminteri has done some Broadway, but I don't know if he's known for plays... ETA: Scratch that. He was well into adulthood before he got his film credit.
Gabriel Byrne? He's done theatre and will be doing more this year. ETA: Scratch that. He was well into adulthood before he got his film credit.
Hard to imagine some of these older chaps on meth, but I guess someone could get hooked at any age.
ETA: Giancarlo Esposito of The Usual suspects has done quite a bit of theatre, began acting at a youngish age (about 19 for a film according to imdb and voice work at 12), but I don't know that he's been in that many "big" films. Depends how you define big, I guess because he's been in a bunch of Spike Lee joints, Ali, and a small part in Trading Places, but those don't seem so "big".

I don't think it's Stephen. He's born again christian and actually helps people kick their addictions.

No way it's Sean Astin. No way.
However, are there any other Goonies that might fit the bill? How old is the author? What decade might this childhood movie be from?

I really hope it's not Giancarlo Esposito. I have a crush on him.
Of the 'Usual Suspect' guys (my favorite film, btw), Kevin Pollack was my first guess, then Pete Postlethwaite (thought it doesn't make sense that Kobayashi would be hitting the meth pipe).
I am really confused on this blind and grossed out because meth is disgusting.
