Panache Report 01/29/08
BLIND ITEM (BIG SHOT)
One project put him on the map. He had dreams of becoming a Hollywood big shot, behind the scenes but his plans didn't turn out the way he expected due to his massive ego.
On the surface, this man appears likable and sweet. In reality, he has left a trail of broken hearts in his wake. Once, a girlfriend wanted to test his faithfulness, she had a close friend call his hotel room while he was on location and pretend to be a "local" groupie. When the friend got him on the phone, within five minutes, he was trying to lure her to his hotel room.
His girlfriend was devastated, later she said he allegedly gave her a (non fatal) STD but she may have been disgruntled.
This man is also known for procuring hookers while on location.
Needless to say, this man eventually got married. Over time, he became bored and disappeared from his family without a word. He is now divorced.
He's known for hiring the cheapest talent so he can pocket as much budget money as possible.
Hint: Very well known in the black community.
Not:John Singleton.

Keenan Ivory Wayans. I'm Gonna Git You Sucka was the project that put him on the map. Plus, he got married, had about five kids, and then got divorced.
And it seems like every other successful project he starts, he ends up getting pushed out of. First, In Living Color, and then the Scary Movie franchise.

My first guess was Keenan. After thinking about this for a second, I had to toss that aside.
Keenan comes across as conceited and full of himself. Most of the Wayans seem to have serious ego issues. Robert Townsend does not. Robert Townsend movies and shows always, ALWAYS have store brand talent.

^^Keenan doesn't always come off as stuck on himself. I remember seeing interviews with him where he came off as down-to-earth and a family guy.
And I thought about Robert Townsend, since he did Hollywood Shuffle and The Five Heartbeats, and he does come off as really down-to-earth and laid back. But, then I went with Keenan, because he's the one that keeps getting booted out of successful projects that he starts.
