Hehe. Anyone who's a die-hard Counting Crows fan would've thunk it. Adam Duritz has never spoken ill of her by name, but he's written songs and talked about the "biggest bitch in the whole world" - who he was madly in love with at one point - and through another songwriter's (mutual acquaintance) slip-up, it was pretty much revealed to be Courtney. I think I can find some links if anyone's curious about the whole saga.

Whew. Okay, very convoluted. Let's see here... First thing to know is that Adam Duritz of Counting Crows and Courtney Cox did date, this is no secret. She was also in the video for "A Long December".

Secondly, we head to AnnaBegins.com. This link features lyric/music meanings taken first-hand from Adam Duritz in interviews and concerts. "Barely out of Tuesday" is the blurb we're interested in.

Says Adam: "music for "barely..." was partially written by someone i cannot stand. nothing of her, other than my scorn, will be on any future albums..."

Says Adam at Shim Sham '03: "I had this really horrible ex girlfriend at one point and I taught her how to play piano and one day I came home and she's playing this music, and I feel ashamed even saying this but it was very good. So I took it and I finished it and wrote words to it.. But shes such a fucking bitch, and even though I love the song I could never record it cause I just never want to see her fucking name on a record at all."

Now all this really proves is that Adam Duritz thinks Courtney Cox is a huge bitch, based on very first-hand experience, and kind of psycho as well (there are other songs written about their relationship). Certainly doesn't hurt our theory though, anyway.
