Just wondering, why do so many people rarely wear dresses? I wear dresses every day, for every reason, including hiking. A one piece dress (most of mine were $16 at Ross) can be cheaper than a two piece outfit. It's also great to feel the breeze on your legs.

I don't like them (on myself). I'm more tomboy-ish when it comes to clothes. I'm most comfortable in trousers. And like Lynnie I have big boobs too. Dresses don't look good on me.

Almost 5'7". I prefer just above the knee or at the knee. Rarely wear skirts. Summertime, most often, cuz it's like shorts. But wintertime? I avoid them.

I am 5'4, never wear dresses or skirts. I don't own either. Why? I am kinda a tomboy, jeans and a t-shirt, I am ready to go.

I don't go anywhere it is necessary to dress up. If there is a wedding or funeral I have a trusty silk pants set I wear.

I'm 5'8 or 5'9, and wear my skirts just above the knee, or mid calf to ankle length.

5'3 here and I like above the knee. I think it makes me look taller which is probably all in my mind.

Hahaha same here, 5'3" and above the knee although I only wear dresses if I have to. I'm a hippy tomboy who prefers pants or nudity...

I'm 5' 3.75" and I am a dress person. I wear them at every length, but my fav is probably just below the knee.

I have big boobs so when I wear a dress I look enormous, so I tend to stay away from them. Think Jessica Simpson...

I rarely wear them because I have the ugliest chicken legs.

^^ think that -- I inherited my moms chicken legs and her big boobs but not her height. I look like a walking set of tits on toothpicks.

5'5" here. When the weather started getting warm I went to Ross and bought like 10 new summer dresses which are all pretty long and I love them. Too out of shape this summer for shorts in public! And too old for short dresses and skirts any more.

I'm a little tomboy-ish in style, and I have the kind of figure that looks better in pants anyways - broad shoulders, big boobs, no hips or butt.

I'm 5'2 and I almost always wear above the knee dresses. To be honest, I hardly own any dresses that go bellow the knee. I feel they make me appear shorter than I already am.
