I'm 5'6. I hardly ever wear skirts and never wear dresses, but I like just below the knee.

5'6 1/2" and I maybe wear a skirt or dress twice a year. When I do, I prefer just above the knee.

I've had people I know in person telling others (and me) that I'm 5'7"

I'm 5'2" and almost never wear skirts or dresses, but when I do, I prefer right above the knee.

i'm 1m63 or 64 (i've never been able to figure out which because every time i get measured i get one or the other) which is, i think, 5'3'' and a bit. i wear lots of skirts and dresses, probably more than pants, especially for work. in my off time it's probably 50/50 between skirts and jeans. i don't have any long skirts or dresses because i think they make me look short and even when i have to dress up i try to look for dressy cocktail or tea length dresses.

i wear my skirts on the knee or just above though i have one kind of retro pencil skirt that's just below the knee but it works. in winter i also like to wear shorter skirts - above the knee but not quite in mini territory, maybe a couple of inches above the knee. with opaque black tights and boots and a pea coat.

I'm 5'5" and all legs. For work, I like right above the knee and I love pencil skirts to death. For going out, I like something a little shorter, but not hooker-short.

5'4". I rarely wear skirts or dresses, because my legs are not one of my better features - I have thick calves. When I do wear them, I go for tea or ankle length.

Just wondering, why do so many people rarely wear dresses? I wear dresses every day, for every reason, including hiking. A one piece dress (most of mine were $16 at Ross) can be cheaper than a two piece outfit. It's also great to feel the breeze on your legs.

i love skirts and dresses. i think a skirt and a pair of opaque tights and boots is warmer than pants in winter, and in summer it's definitely breezier to wear a skirt or dress. i'm just as comfortable in them as i am in pants. i can bike in them, walk in them, sit on the ground in them. i think a lot of women find them uncomfortable because they're just not used to them.
and you don't need perfect legs to wear them either. mine are far from perfect but it's all about knowing the shape and length that work for you. i actually think long skirts (mid calf to floor length) are more unflattering, unless you're tall.

I have big boobs so when I wear a dress I look enormous, so I tend to stay away from them. Think Jessica Simpson...

I rarely wear them because I have the ugliest chicken legs.
