where I live no one calls it a blow dry, so I guess its a regional term. It's somwhat like a

blow out= something a professional does

and blow dry= is something you do yourself

"Im getting a blow out today" vs "Im going to go blow dry my hair"

It varied how long it takes me to get ready.

If I'm not going out OUT, then around an hour (but I don't have a hubby or kids). I jump in the shower, wash my face, shampoo my hair, rinse, condition and leave it on whilst shaving my legs and washing my body, then I tie my hair up whilst its wet, put on my deodorant, do my make-up then blow dry my hair, and then finally get dressed.

If I'm going OUT OUT, its the same routine, just takes a little longer.

A blow out is a term used for blowing your hair straight. At least that's what they call it round these parts.

It does to me too. Like going for a shampoo and set.
A big boy did it and ran away.

Ooooh yeah, even my 75 year old Grandma is too young for a shampoo and set. It's almost as bad a Phyllis's (from Corrie) purple tint:

I don't know. I say hairdresser, but I'm from England. I wouldn't know what else to call her really. What do you say BIAB?

I shave, buzz the head if needed, hop in the shower, moisturize what i need to after, deodorant, cologne spritz, pull on the clothes, make sure i don't look utterly beastly and fat (lest my non-existent husband cheat on me as a result) then waddle out the door.

    I say hairstylist.

I don't know if hairdresser is really grannified. My great aunt always would say she is going to the hairdresser for a shampoo and set.
