There has been a rumor for years now that Tresemme shampoo and conditioner makes your hair grow fast. I have no idea if that it is a myth or what, but I have heard that for ages now.

Nothing you put on your hair is going to help like taking Omega 3 caps. Or pre-natal vitamins. 2 different hair dressers have said my hair grows so fast, are you taking pre-natal vitamins? I don't, but that is a good clue.

I take biotin for hair, skin and nails. I just bought some extra strength stuff - 5mg, as it's normally sold in units of mcg - (I have really weak nails), but my hair grows like crazy. My nails grow faster as well.

It's the local stimulation that boosts hair growth - partly from the pepper and definitely from massage. It works by improving circulation which, for want of a better expression, also helps feed your follicles. Examples of other 'stimulating' ingredients include chilli powder or menthol. The oil, combined with the length of time it's left on the hair, provides conditioning and protective effects. This means that if your hair tends to become brittle, broken and fall out early, it can help extend its life cycle and thereby grow longer than usual.

Cosmetic shampoos, conditioners and styling agents that promise to boost your hair - whether by Tresemme or anyone else - usually contain ionic ingredients that 'repel' one another, so the hairs all stand away from one another, thus providing the effect of volume. It's not the same as stimulating ingredients to boost actual growth, but it's a useful addition.

I've been using Tresemme (exclusively) for a couple of years now and my hair does grow quickly but it did before Tresemme came to the UK, so I guess it's again down to stimuli. Scalp massage is the way forward

It wasn't that bad, but I think I should take a couple days off from the treatment for now. I just relaxed my hair, and my scalp got burned!

Alice, I keep hearing about those products on the radio. I looked it up online, and that stuff is pretty expensive. It was about a hundred bucks for the set. I don't know of anyone personally whos used it though..

well one thing about prenatal vitamins is that they have a lot of iron in them which non-pregnant women shouldn't be ingesting too much of... iron build-ups in the brain can lead to dementia/Alzheimers later on in life according to recent studies. just a thought...

Alice I wrote up thread that a friend of mine who went through Chemo uses it. She lost a ton of hair. She's convinced it grew back thicker and faster because of Ovation. I've heard it's really pricey though.

Let us know how it works for you.
