I use opi polish frequently, I don't notice excessive chipping. But I always use Seche Vite top coat, and that may be why. The stuff is awesome.

Also, I always use Orly bonder base coat.

^I do love Orly, I have one nail polish by them and it lasted me a week, I forgot I even have it. I may paint my nails with it today. I use L'Oreal as a top coat so that's probably a big issue too, haha, it's shitty.

I still have a great neon orange by Orly that I have yet to wear.

I like Seche Vite but I have big problems with it "shrinking" the last coat of nail polish as it dries.
No idea how to combat this but I still use it because I love how fast it dries and the shine is the best.

Seche Vite Top Coat is the shit! That stuff makes my polish last at least a week with no chips!
I use CND's "Stickey" base coat. This combo works magic for me.
I do find though, that creme polishes don't last nearly as long on me as one that have a pearlized finish do. Just my experience.

RiteAid has wetnwild (cheap already) 3 bottles for $2.00 and a ton of nice colors! The ones I got seem to looks great with 2 thin coats. I tested them yesterday and didn't bother doing a base coat or top coat. So far so good.

Same for me. I don't usually wear shimmer shades, but when I have I've noticed they last longer.

I've read on makeupalley that if you get shrinkage with the seche vite, just make sure you brush the colored polish over the nail tips, and then do the same with the topcoat.

When I looked online to see examples of shrinkage they showed it very pronounced coming in from the nail bed edges. I think the one tip floating around is to make sure you slap the top coat on a wet final coat of the colored polish.

I think the shimmer lasting longer is almost like it being a complete pain in the ass to get glitter polish off? Maybe the shimmer gives it the tiniest bit of grippy texture?

Yeah, I put my Seche Vite top coat on my nails as soon as I finish the second coat of color. And I put it on in one wide, thick swipe. Never had any issues with it shrinking.

Pedicure today, Essie A List- a nice true red, not too blue or orange. It's super shiny too.

Manicure in OPI Bubble Bath, which is one of my standbys, a good clean neutral that works well with my skintone

I LOVE Bubblebath, I've worn it for years, always so pretty and clean looking. Easy to apply too, the sheer formula makes it hard to fuck it up.

Didn't they change the shade a few years ago? I thought it was an almost-black red.

I remember all the hoo-ha when it first appeared 20 years ago, it seemed so grungy at the time!

i don't know. my bottle's old. i can't remember when i got it but it's at least 4-5 years old. chanel polish is amazing though and it's still in perfect condition.
i know it's different in the US. both are no. 18 but the US one is called vamp and it's slightly more purple and it's metallic. in europe it's no.18 rouge noir and it's a black-red cream with no metallic at all to it.
