I'm wearing dark red nail polish this weekend.
Here is a picture (not mine), it's a local brand:

Pretty! That's a really nice colour, very shiny and rich.

I have gold nails this weekend, although as it's a shimmery polish it's chipping something awful already

I smile because I have no idea what's going on

I'm a huge fan of OPI nail products. Great colours, especially the "nude" shades and a really dark, almost black, cherry called Black Cherry Chutney. I also rave about OPI base/top coat which protects nails from staining and also stops chips.

Yeah I can't find my base or topcoats since I moved and half of my cosmetics have gone walkies, hence the chips. There's these two bitches in my uni class and they have those gross stripper acrylics with garish colours and diamonte sparklies all over them. Minging. It's driving me to look after my nails a bit better though.

Haha a couple of us tried Black Cherry Chutney several pages ago and were disappointed. I forget why, I think it was dull unless it was in direct sunlight and only on the first day.

I've been thinking of doing a silver metallic color that would go well with my purple hair. I want to stay away from shimmer, looking for more mirror-like metallics. Came across this mirror metallics collection by Essie, I kind of like a couple of the shades, esp the silver and copper.

^^^^OMG a word of caution about the Essie mirror metallics. The formula is total crap but I still love Penny Talk dearly. It dries so fast on the nail that you can't hesitate while painting or you will get really streaky visible polish lines. Also, it shows every imperfection on your nails whether you have ridges or not. My advice is wearing an aqua base coat. It's a base coat that you generally wear under a holographic polish but it works great when I use it under the mirror metallics.

yeah i tried the Black Cherry Chutney. It looked horrible if you didn't have any sort of light on it.

Black Cherry Chutney has always worked great for me and looks fabulous, but it's not one I paint myself. I generally get that one done at the nail salon, because it's hard to get it to look right otherwise and I usually streak the topcoat.

Yeah the more I read up on Essie's mirror metallics, the more I came across the same thing: unfriendly formula that shows all nail imperfections. Blah, my nails are starting to look pretty shitty so that probably won't work for me, even with a base coat. I want something that looks like chrome, an actual mirror finish. The only thing I came across to give that look is those gel strip thingies that sort of stick on. I have doubts about how easy those are to apply--I'm not the most steady hand. Anyone use those?

These are Essence Studio nail fashion stickers– LIGHT FOREVER. I don't know, I don't want them to look like little kids nail stickers.

I definitely think those would be hard to pull off especially with a shakey hand. I haven't used a gel anything because my nails are already screaming for moisture with regular polish.

I love that color Laurent. Girls use different colour of nail polish for their nail beauty .some girls like long nail and some like short nail. I like short nail. My hand colour is fair. I use pink nail polish and like pink colour of nail polish

I bought Glamour magazine because the free gift was Kate Spade for Nails Inc. nail polish. I picked Big Apple Red, the other colours were dark navy/black, gold and silver.

I always have reds or burgundy on my nails, sometimes pink. I love deep reds, I'm so pale that wines and blue reds look great on my translucent skin. I have a few other colors that I buy when I feel in a red rut, but I always take them off after a day or two. I have like 15 different shades of red. Maybe 5 shades of pink.

I have OPI Malaga Wine right now.

On my toes, I have OPI I Eat Mainely Lobster, to mix it up after having on different shades of red for like 5 months.

I love both those colours. I am super pale too, so this red looks good. It's seasonal too
