Omg, the Clapton thing. Mom remarried in 1990. She said "I like that song Wonderful Tonight, that Clapton is very good....do you think he'd play at the wedding"?

I swear she asked me that.

Your mom still looks incredible, Chalet. What a gorgeous bride.

Your mom is gorgeous, Chalet. Wow, imagine if Eric Clapton had sung at her wedding. "Wonderful Tonight" would have been much more appropriate, than say, "Layla".

Thanks PB. I'll have you know that the marriage lasted just long enough for me to come around plus two years.

LOL. If he had been there, I would have fainted.

From the PS standpoint - she tells people to go to a specialist, not a surgeon who does boobs, lipo etc. Face lifts by doctors who only work above the neck. Never touch the eyes, and do it in your late 50's. She does not do Botox etc. The other thing she does is use Glycolic acid pads, 20 percent strength.

Sorry to get off topic here.

Haha. When the nurse brought me into her... she said why does she have dark hair and dark eyes? The nurse asked what the father looked like.

    She said, Oh yeah, him.

A match made in heaven, obviously.

Thanks much. I was going to remove the pics but it's been quoted, so we can let it be. Just don't tell her, she'll kill me.

I'd like to hear more from others about the original topic. I hope more people post.

glad to hear you say that chalet..i had felt stupid about starting this thread (it's always hard to admit deep insecurities) but who knows, maybe it will help someone who reads it or posts in it or something..

I think it's great you started this thread, xoxo! It makes me want to ask my daughter what she thinks, but she's not the introspective type lol. She's a hardcore "J" on the MBTI scale. It's amazing we get along so well, me being a hardcore "P"

Your asking this question made me realize just how much my mother was/is into having me look good... she's always complaining about my hair, that's it's not curled enough, and I have to remind her that that is not the current style and hasn't been for a long time. She's very attached to me looking proper to her friends and extended family.

Your mother is gorgeous chalet! She reminds me of the 50's movie star, Arlene Dahl. Your mother is more naturally pretty though. But I thought there was a resemblence. Here's a pic:

My mother despaired the fact that I didn't care about looks nearly as much as she did. She modeled when she was younger and was very persnickity about appearance. I've become more high maitenance as I've gotten older, but I'm not going to sweat the small stuff. I try to minimize the importance of looks to my daughter. It's tough when she's got a friend who eats Zone bars for lunch at school. Her friend is nine!
