My son has one on his arm and wants to get it removed because he is embarassed and won't wear t-shirts unless they cover it. I don't want to take him because I don't want to disturb it. My girlfriends husband had a mole on his back and one day it started oozing. They checked it and then removed it. Malignant. He died less than a year later with treatments. (He was always sunburn as a child and worked with pest control amongst all those chemicals and hardly used the respirator) His surgeon took more than enough and assured him she got it all. Then my father has skin cancer. I just don't know.

I've been putting off having all these moles removed from my torso. There are a whole bunch of them, varying in size. They are right under my breasts so it means I won't be able to wear a bra for how long? and the girls are not going to feel good about that lol.

i wouldn't worry. it's safer to remove them. plus, they do a biopsy when they remove it. at least they should, so be sure to ask your doctor to make sure. and if it looks dangerous and is really big, sometimes they'll biopsy it first and then wait for the results before removing it. actually, if there is a history of skin cancer in your family it's probably best to remove any large moles. my grandfather's brother died because of a malignant mole and his son did too, both at the same age. their family was told to get themselves checked out and remove any suspicious or potentially suspicious moles.

That's horrible, father and son and same age too.
I have another thought. My Uncle had a mole on his foot. They said they need to remove it and it was malignant too. He removed it and it spread right up his leg where he got these huge pustules that would burst. They told him the only way he'd live is if they amputated he said hell no and didn't make it either.

I had a mole on my back removed that was pre-cancerous. I wanted it done too, it was hideous and i'm glad it's gone and it healed rather well, no scarring.

Guys, does it hurt?
I mean, I had a wart burned off my hand many years ago, it was done with dry ice, but there are so many on my torso under my boobs (maybe 20? varying in size some of them are really tiny but the doc wants to get 'em) and I won't be able to wear a bra for awhile (a few days?)

maybe he had a bad surgeon? or the cancer was really aggressive and had already spread to the bone? i think in most cases mole removal isn't dangerous. the worst that can happen is a large scar, especially if the mole runs deep and it's on a part of the body like the leg or the spine so it runs lengthwise.

nah, don't worry. especially if they're small. mine didn't hurt, i only felt discomfort if i accidentally bumped my hand onto where it was. as for the bra, you'll probably get a bandage and have to avoid a bra with underwire for a couple of days, maybe be careful that the elastic isn't right on top of one of them or something like that.

I had two cut out of my back. I'm a big baby when it come to pain as you know & they put some local anisthetic cream on it, cut them out then courterised them (but I am in the UK.... we use leaches & everything here LOL), the worst bit was the smell!
The one that they were worried about grew back because they didn't get all of it, but smaller that it had been & not raised this time. The other one was just fine. Irritating as anything as it was where my bra would be.... but heck! Better off than worried about them!
Good luck!

^^Make the appointment!! I'm getting ready to get two more removed. I'm excited about it. I hate my moles. They are ugly and serve no purpose. It's not like they are the size of quarters and on my face, but I hate them. Like i said before, my scars are a very light pink....barely notice them. As for the pain, I had them removed and went back to work.

hmmm...yes, I'm so being a chicken. It's the bra line I'm worried about, but really I know it isn't going to be a big deal if I can get past all the rigamarole of making the appt and showing up, etc. Kaiser takes forever.
