A guy at work is like that. I think he uses it to mask the vodka on his breath after lunch.

Certain perfumes that I find stinky as hell on me, smell good on other people. I don't mind fruity, I can't stand powdery.

Ditto. Coco has always smelled like stale powder to me.

I hate stuff like Charlie, Enjoli, Jean Nate, anais anais and I agree with Obsession and Giorgio, although I think their knockoffs are far worse. Cheap perfume is always so strong and has a bad lingering odor.

Dior Opium is foul, and Dior Poison could not have been better named. Gag.

And yes, I remember the nostalgic smell of Brut.

I think its called "very sexxy" by victoria's secret? Holy crap. that was awful.

Does anyone remember "Narcisse"? Wow. So overpowereringly sweet it made me sick.

That was my christmas present one year. I smelled it in a magazine and liked it, then when I got it, it sucked so hard.

J-Lo Glow smells like loo disinfectant.

Agree with the Thierry Mugler - Angel, a co worker had it once and it complemented her, don't know how or why but she carried it off. Got some as a present once and its so sickly sweet I couldn't wear it. A boyfriend said it made him heave

There is something that came out in the past year or so that smells JUST like cotton candy-in a bad way. Not Pink Sugar but something that jumped on the bandwagon and failed. I tried it on and all that I remember is that it had blue and pink packaging. And that it reeked. I never wanted to smelll it again but someone wore it on the bus the other day. Argh!!!

Chanel No.5 has always smelled of powder to me, but in a good way. I started wearing it when I was 12-13.

Anything by Avon. Does anyone remember a popular scent from the 70s called "Jungle Gardenia"? Ugh, overwhelming! "Charlie" makes me puke!

^^Uh oh. My favorite is Odyssey by avon.

It's the only one I like from Avon. It's a light scent that only I can smell. Everytime I don't wear it, my children complain that "Mom, you just smell like you." My daughter says it smells different on me than other people. Maybe because I don't bathe in it?

I hate Chanel No. 5 and anything that smells like baby powder or patchouli.

I like Clinique Happy and (embarrassed to admit it) Britney Spears Curious

Do remember that cologne or perfum will smell different on each person, because it interacts with whatever your skin is excreting and your particular dermal acidity factors.

I wear FCUK for men, and it's really subtle but really fuckin sexy. It doesn't as good as when it does on me..

also, apparently when I sweat I smell like cologne even if I'm not wearing any. Check that out, ladies. I'm my own air freshener

i've been told the pH of a person's skin is what makes some perfumes smell good on some people and foul on others.

ysl opium is one of those perfumes that smells horrible in the bottle, but can smell wonderful on the right person. it's been my grandmother's perfume for as long as i've known her and i swear, you would never guess what it was, it smells so good on her.

issey miyake's 'le feu' is like that as well, it doesn't even smell like perfume until you put it on and then depending on the person it can smell great.

agree about dior 'poison', but 'pure poison' smells like heaven.
