I could do it if I had to. With the new kidlet, everything in my routine had to be cut down. I'm one of those non-monkey people. I barely shave. When I was pregnant, the hair on my legs stopped growing. Weird. I used to do a bikini wax once a month, but since the c section, I haven't. I'll be going soon since we're heading into pool season.

I could do 7 min or so but not 3. I tend to think in the shower so i get sidetracked.

I'm not hairy at all and pretty much only shave my legs when i'll be wearing shorts or a dress. I've had 4 brazillian laser treatments and i love it! I want to get my underarms done too at some point.

I tried to get it done once. You have to have dark hair or it won't work. They took one look at mine & sent me away. I was very let down.

Nov, the cost varies depending on the body part you're getting lasered. For example, I get my lower legs done for $200 each session, upper legs $235, underarms $80. They usually recommend about 6-10 sessions on each area to see good results. The thicker and darker the hair, and the lighter your skin, the better it works. There are topical anesthetic creams to help with the pain but even so, it hurts (if it's being done right at high enough settings.)

When shopping around, make sure they use the right kind of laser for your skin color--do a Fitzpatrick skin test online or at a derm office. Alexandrite lasers work best for lighter-skinned people, olive-skinned people like me need an Nd-Yag to avoid burns. Most importantly, make sure the person who will be administering the treatment has at least 1 year's experience, preferably a nurse or nurse practitioner at a dermatologist's office as opposed to those laser centers who want to sell you packages of 6 sessions paid upfront.

This forum has a lot of useful info for starting your research, plus real people's accounts of their experiences.

Ok, I'm just gonna ask it. Just how much of the lady garden will they trim with the laser?

I got a deal on groupon for several sessions on the area of my choice for 99 dollars.

I think they'll do whatever you ask them to, from a full brazilian to landing strip to a more general bikini line. They'll just charge more for a bigger area.

Oh and I'm not sure if it's what you meant by "trim" but you are supposed to shave the area before the treatment so it will work better.

Well, I was just extending my gardening metaphor. What I really want is for all if it to be lasered off. ALL OF IT.

that's exactly what i've had done. it takes maybe 15 min each time and you are red & swollen afterwards (at least i am) for a day or so but then you are baby smooth. after each treatment, less and less hair grows back until it stays gone. i've had 4 treatments and they are $250 per.

did you do research on the place before you bought the groupon? like bee said, if the tech doing it doesn't have the right experience, it is all for nothing.

That's changed a lot since lasers were first introduced. There are now multiple lasers that work on even the lightest hair. You just have to find a practitioner that has the right laser.

^That's interesting, which lasers have you heard are effective with light hair? Last I researched no one had really achieved meaningful results on red or blonde hair. I have read that for light hair, some practitioners recommend IPL (intense pulsed light) machines, which are not true lasers and some people reported stimulated more hair growth from them. But that was info I read about 4-5 years ago, I haven't read up on the subject lately.

I was going to say, in my city there are tons of great laser hair removal deals on Groupon etc. We currently have one for 1 year unlimited sessions. Luckily, i don't really grow leg hair, but i had bona-fide fur under my arms. I've had 4 treatments and most of it is gone. I bought 4 more sessions on one of those groupon-deals. The last treatment i did didn't hurt at all.

^^^where? where? I check groupon all the time but i haven't seen that! I'd love a year of unlimited laser.

Way back when, I was a "model" at an esthetics school, and got all my underarm hair taken off by electrolysis. So I have no underarm hair. I use an epilator on my legs, but I'd love to have it lasered off. I'm not too hairy, but i notice since dropping the crotchfruit that my leg hair grows faster.
