I agree with Tati about the Cover Girl liquid pen. I can't hardly get pencil on straight, much less liquid, but I can manage this stuff. It's got a felt tip and it dries fast.
The U.S. version looks different that what Tati posted above, but I figure it's the same stuff. The Australian version is probably close, as well.
Here's the U.S. pen:

The dark liner really makes my eyes pop- I have blonde hair, blonde eyebrows, blonde eyelashes and I'm pale to begin with so I try to emphasize my eyes and have them stand out a little.

I'm also a blond with blond eyebrows, but I'm a red lipstick addict, so I prefer a softer eye. I've been using Maybelline Line Stylist eye liner in Espresso lately. You can do thick or thin, light or dark and it's easy to wing out in the corners. It also doesn't do the raccoon thing. Also cheap. I feel guilty it's so cheap.

I use black eye shadow and a slanted brush to apply it. It works so much better than pencil liners and is a million times easier to apply than liquid.

This stuff is awesome! If you have trouble applying a straight line on your upper lid, definitely go for this one.

I just have a quick question regarding liquid eyeliner.
I have horrible allergies, and sometimes my eyes water like crazy. Does liquid eyeliner smudge easily? I want to try liquid eyeliner, but this is the one thing holding me back.

The Bobbi Brown gel does not smudge at all, as far as I remember.

Yes. I also have allergies and when I wear liquid liner I have to be crazy careful not to smudge it. I don't know if they make a waterproof liquid liner but I haven't encountered one yet. It dries hard so if you are careful to dab the bottom part of your eye with a tissue instead of rub your eyes you should be alright for most of the night. I find that I can go about 5 or 6 hours without smudging it. Which is usually long enough since I only wear it for parties or going out to a bar.
Edit: I just looked it up and I found waterproof eyeliners. That's definitely worth exploring further.

Didn't Greys recommend that too?
I have a clinque pencil thingy & find it still drags... so I used prestige - its cheap as chips & has a little applicator thingy (a bit like a cocktail stick but without a sharp point) that means I can kind of lay it along my lashes so its great to apply even in a hurry.
Oh and because its so cheap I have 4335945945 colours.

Regular eyeshadow applied with a damp brush works great, lasts all day, and comes in any color you like. When I really need staying power, I use a pencil liner, then trace over it with the shadow on a damp brush.
