The woman who did my wax said that she has seen a major cut-back in her biz of waxing and facials.
What are you cutting back on? What is necessary, what can last, and what can go by the wayside?
By trying we can easily learn to endure adversity -- another man's I mean. -Mark Twain

"I ransacked his drawers when he left me by myself at his place for the first time. That's how we did it in the good old days. Tells me all I need to know about him. He pretends he didn't notice. That's how good relationships start." - Chilly Willy
I'm waxing my own eyebrows. And looking for cheaper moisturizer and cream. I think Avon sells Anew that's pretty affordable.
I have recently bought the most expensive foundation and mascara I have ever bought. So thus far I'm cutting down on food.
Hell is empty, and all the devils are here
I've definitely been seeing less people at the tanning, hair, and nail salons that I go to.
Luckly, the recession hasn't really had an effect on me...yet, but if it comes to that point I would cut out the take-out I order basically every night.
Hmmm, I should probably start learning to cook.
OMG, I love your avatar!! Adama! It is hilarious! Reminds me that I really must get caught up with Battlestar Galactica, I've only watched the first season or so.
I have cut down my spending on food. I don't spend much on makeup or clothes anyway. Though I did buy a pair of sunglasses the other day because they were gorgeous and I just had to have them.
i'm too hairy to try to save money on getting waxed. i also started getting pedicures recently, but only because i moved to another country and compared to switzerland where i used to live they are dirt cheap.
i eat out less than i used to. and i haven't bought a purse in a long time. oh wait, actually i did get one before christmas but it was a young, still-unknown designer and not a really expensive one like the ones i would self-gift myself with a couple of times a year.
i'm buying less instant-gratification cheap stuff and making more informed purchases, waiting until i'm sure i really want and need something and love it. no more impulse buys, even for cheap stuff. that shit adds up.
I'm open to everything. When you start to criticise the times you live in, your time is over. - Karl Lagerfeld
I don't really wear makeup or buy many products but I thought I read somewhere that people actually buy more makeup during a recession (specifically, the example I read about was lipstick). The rationale was that a $5-$20 is a more affordable splurge than big-ticket items and still gives women a "pick me up" shot of beauty/retail therapy.
I haven't really cut back on anything.
Thankfully, it hasn't hit me yet....I've always been broke so no change here.
I've resorted to spitting on my hair to style it.
I am from the American CIA and I have a radio in my head. I am going to kill you.
Hey Grimm, does it look like this when you're done?

I always go to beauty schools for any treatments/hair cuts. They do an awesome job at the place I go to and they're dirt cheap.![]()
