Self adhesive are CRAP. Buy the shape you like but use transparent or colored glue to match your lashline. WARNING-the glue on Sephora lashes dries WHITE!

I like the individual flare lashes or half lashes for special occasions. You can get as dramatic as you like and apply for different effects.

Get the adhesive for any fake lash. Well worth the effort.

I never use false lashes. I always forget about them - I should look into using them on special occassions, I do remember a mishap when I was younger. I had bought some diamante trimmed lashes, I think they were self adhesive. I'd gone out for a night out and it started to rain and one of them fell off! I tried drying it under the hand dryer in an attempt to make the glue more tacky but to no avail. The bad thing was when I pulled the other one I noticed that the strip had removed my eyeliner - god I looked awful.

you might wanna try Ardell, MAC and Shu Uemura. As for glue, get Duo - it's the best. check out

I wanted to start a thread about fake eyelashes but I found this!

I am very tempted to try but I'm also scared that:
    - the glue won't be strong enough,
    - or will cause me some eye infection (my eyes are very sensitive and very prone to infections, like when I use the wrong eye makeup or makeup remover ),
    - or worst of all, I have this picture in my head that when I remove/peel the fake lashes off they will rip off my real lashes!!! Isn't that a scene from Disney's Lady and the Tramp cartoon, where the evil old lady takes her makeup off and all of her lashes off??? I saw it as a kid and it scarred me for life

So, anyone else tried them and her advice or names to give?
    Thank you!

When I have the time and patience I will apply about five sets of the individual clusters to each eye... wow! I like the clear duo glue for individual lashes.

I agree the glue is better than self-adhesive.

Fake lashes are well worth the effort. You look extra hot and people can't quite figure out what's causing all this extra hotness! Fun!!

i've worn fake lashes for costume parties before and i thought they would be much harder to put on but it's surprisingly easy. basically line the glue along the edges, use very little - it will dry quicker and look less clumpy. then glue them on as close as you can to your natural lashes. i remember i used the back of a pair of tweezers to press them on a bit - it's smaller than a finger and also, the glue might stick to your finger if you use it to press down on the lashes.
for non costume lashes, i think it's better to go with the ones that come in little clumps and stick them only on the outer edges of the eyes so it looks more natural than the whole row.

OT: I picked up some of that Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara that people keep raving about, and I swear, I look like I have false eyelashes on right now. I'm amazed that a cheap-o mascara is so good.
