Default Help! My hands are so dry from the cold

My hands get so dry in the winter, I have tried everything on the market and even vasoline and gloves which is uncomfortable to sleep with. Any tips on how to soften up my hands they actually crack.

    1) drink more water

    2) slather your hands in high grade moisturizer.. glop it on. let it soak in for 10 mins, wipe off.

    3) Seal hands in vasoline or other moisture sealer.

make sue to keep reapplying throughout the day.. moisturizer, then vasoline sealer. Drink plenty of water.

Mine crack and bleed if i dont, but this usually takes care of the worst of it.

Try putting you hand in warm water first & let them absorb that before putting on hand cream, too. Otherwise, you are just sealing in dryer skin.

I have heard that eating more fat helps with this problem (good fats, no transfat).

Maybe also using lancomes nutrix on your hands might help? It is expensive, but really good with dry skin.

Any good moisturiser will work - it doesn't have to be expensive so Vaseline or basic Neutrogena "fishermans" handcream are good. The trick is to apply frequently and don't expose your hands to the elements. Wear gloves whenever possible.

That's your problem. If you have to wash your hands frequently then you can get special non-soap handwash that's much more gentle on your skin. Ask your pharmacist.
