    Default Removing Underarm Hair

Normaly I shave but it grows back within couple of days so I thought to romove hair with wax. Have you ever tried? I've been told that the whole axilla area is sensitive to wax and that there are pores that shouldn't be waxed.

Anyway, I did it once, couple years ago and stopped because of what I wrote above. Didn't hurt much either. So, what do you think?

If you are happy with wax, why not? I think a lot of women do use wax?

I use an epilator. Best thing ever.

It hurts at first, if you have strong growth. However, eventually it's just light fluff and can be whisked off in a jiffy!

Take some painkillers and half a bottle of wine and get ripping it out

i tried waxing my underarm hair but it was a bloody mess, literally. i tried about 3 times and finally the lady that was doing it said maybe my hairs are too deep and i should go back to shaving or consider more permanent methods like laser or electrolysis. i think i'll start that this winter. but i have friends that have been waxing for years and never had a problem and this seems to be your case so i would just continue with that if it's not too painful.

I shave mine, just a quick swipe every morning. I can't stand it when women have visible stubble.

I find that, like the bikini zone, it's freaking impossible to get a close shave on my underarms. No matter what I do, eventually the razor just starts skimming over the stubble and tearing my skin to shreds. Some of my other friends have this problem as well, so I think it might have something to do with being brunette... the stubble is just more visible under the skin. I don't know, but it drives me crazy.

^ I have the same problem, Southernbelle, and I'm blonde. I blame it on my mother's Armenian genes! I am going to buy an epilator, I think.

Washing the area right before waxing should eliminate any breakouts, otherwise the wax can get in the pores and stick to dirt and dead skin cells and cause irritation and bumps.

washing is important but so is exfoliating. on any part of the body that you wax. it's the best way to stop ingrown hairs.

If I want a longer-term job (pre holiday) I go and get a wax job - but somebody else has to do it! Ditto bikini wax.

Day to day I give my pits a quick swoosh with the good quality razor and proper shaving foam/gel I keep in the shower. I don't think it's possible to get the area totally smooth with invisible follicles/stubble. Do people really bother to look that closely?

I use this wonderful product called Shave Secret. I swear by this stuff.

Once you've tried it you will never, ever want to use anything else to shave. Say goodbye to nicks, razor burn, ingrown hairs, etc.!

I had my pits done with electrolysis about 15 years ago. Hurt like a son of a bitch, but I had no underarm hair for years. It started growing back fairly fine a few years ago, so now I wax it. My underarms don't really seem to be suffering from the waxing.

I was a body model for an esthetician school, so the electrolysis was free. Man, if I had the money, I'd be back all over getting electrolysis again. No embarassing slipups when the paparazzi catches you! hee hee!

My friend did the laser hair removal on her underarms. She never has to shave or wax. It's pretty cool, but she's obsessed with removing all of her body hair anyway.

    Default LHR facts

Laser hair removal is the best answer to unwanted hair.
It's not excessively expensive, but not cheap either.
Cost of four treatments $699 (underarm).
You need to stay out of the sun 1 month prior and 2 weeks post-treatment.
If not, you will likely experience hyper pigmentation.
    Any questions?
