damn! the Mac counter at Nordstrom was always a party! i miss my friends there
I hear since Estee Lauder bought the company most of the good make up artists left because they were being paid lower wages.
yep that makes sense, they are different now, i worked there years ago and they were friendly and awesome and flamboyant and now they're kinda lame and even rude, my friend just got her makeup done at one and did not like her experience at all which really suprised me.
Same, I went with a friend because she wanted to get false eyelashes (And I wanted to see ), the makeup artist was a total bitch and not friendly at all. She even said something like "because your eyes are so small". Bitch!
I didn't even know that Estee took them over. I love going there because each gal or guy working has a completely different look. So I always pick the one thats (make up)looks best and tell them "I want your eye, lip, etc look.
Boom, I got your boyfriend, boom I got your man.
Estee Lauder is going to own or had owned every cosmetic company eventually. The list of companies/brands that they own is amazing.
The Mac ladies/guys totally intimidate me. I don't know why. Thanks for the code.
Drive a car, drive a boat, drive a plane. What does it matter? As long as I'm drunk!

I used to find them good, too. The last time I went to a counter not only did the salesperson not know the products -- unheard of at a MAC counter -- she actually sneered at me when I asked to see a coral lip liner. She went on to say that "I bet you have Spice" in a tone that implied that I was too unhip to be aware of any other colour.
Uh, yeah, I've been using it and other MAC cosmetics since probably before you were born, but I also have about 20 other colours. Your point is?
Needless to say, I haven't been back. I stocked up at the duty free recently. The MAC counter at the Bay in downtown Vancouver can lick my grits!
I did not know Estee Lauder owned them. That is one company I have always avoided. Their counters are totally bitchy and the artists there like to make people look like clowns. I do not do the Barnum and Bailey look.
I found MAC because I walked through the Macy's makeup department and chose the counter with those who had my personality and the most attractive makeup.
