    Default Foot Rescue

Now the warm weather is here it's time to take off the socks and boots and try on the summer sandals - eeeeeek! Dry, cracked heels, weird lumps and bumps, scaley skin.

Instant fix: At bedtime SLATHER hand cream or other similar dry skin product all over your feet. You need LOTS so the cheaper the better. Then put each foot into a plastic bag (a supermarket carrier bag will do) and then put a sock over it to keep it in place. Sleep well and try to ignore the rustling bag.

In the morning, remove the socks and bags and your feet will be baby soft, smell lovely and look fabulous.

I do this with old socks and minus the plastic bags. It works wonders.

The plakky bags make your feet warm so they tend to absorb the gloop even better, but old socks is good too. It's a good way to use up that basket FULL of odd socks we all have somewhere. Use them to make your feet beautiful then chuck them out.

Errrrrr yes - I live in Australia (see my avatar) and bang on about it constantly so I kinda assumed the regulars here knew. Sorry for the confusion.

I use a shea butter & mango combination that I get from Bath Junkie, then I do the old sock thing. I get quite a few pedicures (about once a month during the fall & winter then biweekly in the summer), so my feet stay soft all year, but the lotion works wonders in between pedicures

It is winter here, and more importantly, I dance, so there is no hope for my feet. But this I'm willing to try--if not only for the fact that I really want to know how it feels to sleep with warm, gooey plastic bags on my feet

It is winter here too but my feet already feel like they need some TLC. I might try the plackie bags thing tomorrow night as my husband is away and won't be able to complain about the rustling, or annoy me by mocking. I will also be letting both cats sleep on the bed all night, even my old lady cat who always wants to get under the duvet, and who purrs VERY loudly before she falls asleep.
A big boy did it and ran away.

I do this at night as well. But, I put socks on the top of the plastic bags. Seals in the heat better and no rustling noises to wake you up.

If you don't have the time or patience, just warm up your favorite lotion slap it on your feet cover with socks or a bag. You will get great results in less than a half hour.

Watch out for stuff with urea in it, it has a lot of protein, but it is horse pee. I avoid all lotions or shampoos with that in it.

Urea is not horse pee. This was the first synthesized chemical.

Premarin now that's some serious horse pee! Wouldn't stop me from taking it if I needed HRT.
