Beauty Confessional
What's the worst beauty sin from your past? The one that you would burn any pictures proving you ever did it?
I used to have satellite bangs - the really thick ones and those suckers were high with a nice cotton candy quality to them. I'd use a small barrel curling iron, fry the shit out of them, douse them with hairspray and then brush them out with a vent brush.

The hugest 80's hair you have EVER seen. It is sooo highly embarrassing now that words cannot describe it. My parents were mortified to be seen with me (not that I liked being w/them mind you) and thought I was on drugs (I was not). I thought I was something and more w/that hair.....
My hair is still paying the price for all that teasing and hair spray. and PERMING.

Shoulder pads like an American football player, so big I used to get wedged in doorways. And a perm, oh god, I had a perm too.

Big blue sequin platform thongs (or flip flops depending where you come from!), truly hideous. And i used to wear mens ties as belts.

Hmm, this is tough. I'm like Edina on "Abfab";I've tried all the trends. Stirrup pants, miniskirts, and perms are just a few of the trends I've sampled. I even tried the preppy thing for a while. Yucch. Thank goodness that did not last long.

Black kohl eyeliner - lots and lots of black kohl that used to run/smudge if you even blinked. Also, cringe, BODY GLITTER!!! Just like Mariah Carey only 20 years ago and it looked crap even then.

I can't decide between two looks. 80's makeup was horrible. Pink blush without blending- more like war paint. Red lips and contouring.
Then the natural makeup came into vogue. Covered my face with shades of clay.
Also have done just about everything else listed by other posters.

Agree with the black kohl eyeliner. The more I drank the more I would put on till I looked like a panda bear.

Forgot this one - I used to do the darker lipliner and fill it in with frosty lipstick. Hideous!

The whole big 'Madonna' cross earrings with the tie in my hair (85/86)
The tall bangs-curl and tease...they were about 4 inches high

Laurent! I don't believe it!
Mine has to be the Dorothy Hamill haircut. 1976. We all ran out to get it. No one told me that you needed to have thick, straight hair, mine is wavy.
Endless hours of blow drying, piece by piece. Aside from that, I looked like a boy.

Believe it! Picture a cross between Jennifer Lopez as Selena and Eminem's wife.
I think my mom still has the Dorothy Hamill.

I'm guilty of a lot of this stuff but I never had big hair. My hair is just too fine. Had a couple of very bad perms, tho. Big shoulder pads, big platforms, big earrings, leggings, stirrups, very short skirts, bustiers, all the hippie stuff way back when. I used to spend an hour every morning painting Twiggies under my lower lashes, and rolling my hair with beer cans. I never got into the Madonna look tho. I don't like a lot of shiny things, never have.

Good God...lot's of them. Around about 85/86, half of my head was shaved and the other half was bleached completely white. Flannel shirts, black leggings and Doc Martens. UGH-LEEEE! Then I mellowed to more of the short, bleached, black eyeliner retro Edie Sedgwick look. Bad again.

Nothing too bad - the worst in retrospect was the color mascaras from the 80's. I had bright blue, green and violet.
OMG - I did too.
Around the same time.
I was a figure skater too.
Go figure
