    Default Flat irons

My flat iron sucks and I never find one I truly like....what products do you use and what flat iron do have to straighen your hair? I have one from Sally's Beauty Supply--no good. And I use some staighter from John Freida. I think I need to start buying more expensive products if I truly want the results I'm looking for. My hair is really frizz, not really curly.

    Any tips?

Mine is a Sedu. Expensive but it's great.

I have a generic Chi flat iron that I got from Sally's it works pretty good, try using either Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny hair serum or Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Serum.....both work great. John Freida didn't do much for my frizzy hair either. Garnier Sleek & Shine is available at drug stores and is alot less $$ than Super Skinny. My hair is thick, coarse and frizzy and those are the only products that tame the frizz and make my hair shiny and smooth.

I have a Babyliss flat iron and I use Alberto European straightening / protecting spray (against the heat damage). I have rather curly and quite frizzy hair regularly but with this system I've been pretty happy.

I have a Babyliss too that I got from my stylist. Works great. Haven't found an anti-frizz product that works yet on days that I just want to blow it out and not use the flatiron (which is most of the time). I work out almost every day so it's just not worth it to "do" my hair.

Is the Alberto product available in drugstores?

I have a Chi flat iron and I love it. Paid around $100, I think.

I hate John Frieda products - they make my hair look and feel so greasy. I like Redkin products quite a bit and after I flat iron my hair, I put on something they make called Glass to smooth my hair and keep it from frizzing.

Yeah the Alberto product is just from the drug store. It's in a smallish blue spray bottle. It cost about 8 dollars or less if I remember correctly. It's called Miracle Mist. It's wicked bc it doesn't make your hair feel all full of goop or anything.

My hair has always been bone straight, thin and fine except for a cowlick at the front. I yearn for even a little bit of wave, never mind curl.

Lol. I think everyone wants what they don't have. Everyone with curls is busy furiously ironing them out. Those with straight hair are always praying for a bit of wave or curl.

So true, I have a bit of a curl on the right side of my hair and I hate it!!!

So I got my friend to straight iron it...and then I wanted the curl back

I have the Muster, GHD and Babyliss. Out of the three of them the GHD would win hands down. But in saying that, it also is very damaging. I have to cut down the usage on it.

I think Tiara mentioned that she used the GHD as well, and loved it. Her stylist used it on her, then her BF bought her a set or some such. I don't know why that stuck in my mind, lol. Anyway, it was apparently that good.

What's GHD? Is that a brand of flat iron?

GHD is one of the best. Stands for Good Hair Day and apparantly works wonders for even afro hair.
