Very expensive as in $20 - $24 for shampoo and conditioner?

There are some products that I want to try, but I have thick hair and I'm afraid I'd use up the bottle in three washings.

    Has anyone tried Ojon products?

I have not tried Ojon products but use the botannical-herbal line from Elizabeth Arden's Red Door Salon, I forget the name, but they come in chrome or silver bottles. A little goes a long way and makes your hair feel smooth and soft, nice smelling. Not sure if you'd want to use it with your thick hair though - they're meant to volumise.

I have very fine, thin hair and I use Aveda and Nioxin hair products.

Oh yeah, lots of the more expensive products actually work out to be less in the long run because you don't have to use quite so much, your hair stays in better condition longer meaning you don't have to go get expensive salon treatments. It's a win/win.

No no volume! I'd look like a mushroom head on a 5'1" body.

I'll spend it just to see. I've used Phyto Rhum Egg shampoo and it was great but I used it up so fast. I want to try this Ojon hair repair mud. 21 bucks for 1.3 oz.

Unless somebody knows of great daily conditioner without volume? I like citrus scents not perfumey or flowery.

Go to a place like Sally Beauty Supplies , they have lots of differnet knock off brands and you can try a bunch for not a lot of money
You can also try brands that are made for African American hair , they are super mostirizng and they won't add volume to your hair

Been using philosophy shampoo and conditioner lately. Have very fine & thick hair. The restorative conditioner has worked out great. Moisturizers my hair without volumizing.

    Smells like a lemon custard.

I don't think I'd be allowed in a beauty supply store! I'd go into some weird place in my head and wander the aisles without purpose like a crazy person.

    Lemon Custard huh? Hello Sephora......

    Thanks all.

I use Biolage's Color Care System (I have highlights). It sells for $30.00 a liter which lasts me about 6 weeks ($60/both shampoo/conditioner).

It's great stuff though, and it helps keep my hair from feeling overprocessed (which it is).

Anyone who is actively seeking a hair product that does NOT provide extra volume is a candidate for my Ignore list.

I highly recommend Pureology. It runs about $30-50 per bottle but its great on damaged hair or fine, limp hair. Plus its organic!

Back to Basics has a great conditioner and it's restorative, it won't give you extra volume. I think the scent is raspberry almond and is about $15 per liter so not too pricey. I've never tried Aveda but my salon may be getting it soon so I'm dying to try it out!

You can try Paul Mitchell's super skinny. I use that sometimes, it really cuts out the volume
