Default Need nice-smelling citrus fragrance recommendations

I want a citrus perfume for summer, but all of the ones I've tried smell like bug spray or cleaning stuff/furniture polish. And it's not my body chemistry because they smell bad right out of the bottle. Latest disappointment was Pacifica Malibu Lemon Blossom. I like their Island Vanilla and several others, but the Lemon smells gross.

O de Lancome, Annick Goutal's Eau de Hadrien and Aqua Allegoria by Guerlain are my favorite citrus fragrances. You should be able to get testers on those at large department stores.

Thank you from me, too, WCG. I mainly like citrus fragrances and they aren't easy to find. I'm going to check out the Lancôme one first, I think.

Laurent, do you also find many of them to smell like bug spray/polish? Before the Pacifica, I tried
L’Eau de L’artisan. Could not wait to scrub it off, it just smelled vile. So hard to find something bright and citrussy and without the acrid, artificial chemical smell.

Yes, either bug spray or household cleaning products. I don't want to smell like lemon Pledge or Orange Breeze Lysol. I only douche with Lysol.

    Kidding.

Lysol and the right base-coat and you don't have to worry about perfume!

Yes, cleaning products or bug-off. Blech.

One of the very common citrus fragrances that works on me is Clinique Happy to Be, which I think they discontinued, and Clinique Happy. So many girls and young women wore in the late 90s that it's seen as an immature scent, but it's one that seems to work on me because I always get compliments on it and people asking what it is and are surprised when I say. It may actually be marketed as a floral, but it smells very citrusy on me.

Go natural. Stuff lemons in your bra. Or handbag.

Dior Addict 2 is a lovely grapefruit-y citrus scent but it depends on how it goes with your body chemistry.
