Beautiful/cool tattoos

the vast majority of tattoos i've seen are fucking ugly and/or amateurish, or ridiculous trendy shit girls get on their ankles and shoulder blades, like butterflies and little flowers and, in more recent times, stars and birds. or tramp stamps.

but here are some i thought are cool designs, well made and cool loooking.
also, and this is more of a personal assessment, i think tattoos look best on people with very distinctive styles (nothing worse than the suburban shopping mall prom look with a tattoo on her foot or shoulder). and i tend to think they look best on men. or at least that's been my experience anyway.

i usually hate foot/ankle tattoos but find they work better when it's a great design and if you just go all out, instead of a rinky dinky lame flower.

i usually hate upper arm/shoulder tats on women but this works. and it's awesome.

birds are getting all trendy and shit but i still think they can be beautiful if well done and nicely placed.

i love this one. it's very old school/nautical and i love the stark black and white.

sput - where did you find those? are the tattoo artists named? the flower/tree tattoos are gorgeous and i would absolutely get one if i knew it would turn out like those.

These were my faves as well! I'm booking myself a session in September as a bday present to myself! Interestingly enough, the first pic looks similar to what I'm planning.

These are the only two I like but the top one is on a dude, right? Seems a bit too delicate for a man. The bottom one reminds me of Sweetie's old avatar.

I got tons more of pictures like those. Each time I see such a nicely done tattoo (even though I don't like all of the motifs) I have to pity the ones with their shitty tattoos more.
