Default Do you use a toner?

I've just read in a magazine that it's not necessary to use it since most cleansers nowadays do a good job of removing dirt and dead skin cells etc...(Toners are designed to remove the residual makeup, impurities, soap, dead skin cells and what have you).

But I don't want to believe it!! It's soo part of my skin care regimen. Cleanse, Tone and Moisturize, I have to do all three! And some toners actually put back the moisture into your skin lost during cleansing and the way I figure is that the moisturizer actually protects the skin from drying out and keeps the moisture in rather than to actually moisturize...

    What do ya think?

I don't. I use a cleanser and sometimes a face scrub, and then moisturize. But I don't wear make up so there is little to remove

I never do, but by mistake I said yes in the poll because I voted before reading Moomies post, and I thought it was about those toning lotions for legs

LOL! I noticed only now there was a poll to answer to
How about starting a thread about the toning lotions?

I'm too lazy. I have toner but I barely ever use it. I normally find I'm out of cotton wool balls anyway.

I use facial wipes, very quick and easy.

Not all wipes are the same. Oil of Olay for example are biodegradable.

You're right, some of them are. I'm just baffled at the incredible amount of wipes used for every purpose.

OT but not so much: do you people pay a tax on garbage bags? I do, and it makes you think thrice about buying stuff you'll use only once and then throw away!!

In my hometown in Japan, residents are only allowed to use city approved garbage bags. So when you purchase them you are paying extra tax on them (I think that's what you are doing in Switzerland?), that's in addition to the garbage disposal tax (cuz they renewed the garbage incineration plant...so more tax was needed to fund it).
I don't know how it works here in Canada though. I think if you live in a house, you are only allowed to have 2 garbage bins for the city to take'em away?? I live in an apartment so I think the building uses a private company to dispose the garbage (and I think it's covered by our rent).

It's either the expensive city approved garbage bags, or the normal garbage bags but you have to buy stickers to put on them.
Plus the garbage disposal tax. Plus the pre-recycling tax included in the price of every electric and electronic appliance or gadget. We love taxes

Our city approved garbage bags are clear plastic so you can see thru them and know what's inside, which is supposed to discourage ppl from throwing away recyclable items...
But in the end, I think it's all good for the environment. It makes you reduce garbage cuz you have to pay extra for the garbage bags and you have to pay more to dispose electronics etc.

Oh yes I'm all for it. Here the bags are not see-through, but I've heard of people who had dumped their "untaxed" garbage bags in the woods or somewhere, they had their garbage gone through and if their address was found in it they got fined. Serves them right ... although the method is arguable.

I use a toner occasionally. I've just run out, and I don't think I'll bother replenishing my supply.

A good toner will also restore the Ph balance of your skin.
