    Default Dark elbows and knees?

Anyone else have dark skin on their elbows and knees? I've had it my whole life but it didn't look so bad when I was younger. Now my legs are chubbier and with the added dark knees I HATE wearing shorts/short skirts...

    Help?

Age old home solution: rub regularly with half a fresh lemon.

I have this problem too and after trying everything on the market, I think it must be genetic. My knees are actually purplish red and I think its just because there's more pigment there? I dont know, but it sucks. My elbows I can work with, but there's seemingly no hope for my knees.

If anyone has tips for getting rid of it, I'd love to know!

^Yeah, I feel you...and it's depressing. I suppose I will try the home remedy with the lemon (will wait a couple of weeks to start since I have a healing scab on my left knee right now).

    I'll update with ?successful results...

I thought that just happened when people had skinned their knees or elbows alot as children.....I know that it sounds dumb but that was the only thing that stuck in my mind since I was a child.....sometimes I need to think more! lol

The elbows & knees need this: scrub with loofah or buff puff in shower. As soon as you get out, barely pat dry and slather with cream and/or baby oil. Elbow neglect is my pet peeve. So many nice outfits are ruined by elbows-I even saw a bride go down the aisle with grey elbows, ruining an expensive dress. Elbows rub against everything and get dry & flakey. They-and knees-need attention. Use hand cream over baby oil-damp skin. baby oil. After 10 minutes or when it sinks in,then hand cream. Just work on both-for one thing it will inprove circulation. That should help with color. Maybe bleach cream,if this doesn't fix it

So I tried the lemon scrub on my knees/elbows last night, even got in the shower and finished scrubbing with a pumice stone. Then moisturized like crazy.

Holy fuck did my knees sting all night!! i don't see a difference in the complexion either....if it's supposed to take multiple applications, I'm not sure I can do that to my poor skin again =(

Try using Dream Cream from Lush. That stuff works miracles, I had these dark brown patches on the inside of my elbow and now they're barely noticeable.

It's not a lemon SCRUB but a lemon RUB. I never use pumice stone (or
moisturizer for that matter). It doesn't hurt and it works, but you do have
to do it a few times.

At least use a buff puff or loofah on them daily-the old dead stuff (which is darker) will gradually come off. Cream, but after you shower & scub the knees & elbows. Cream can't help as much when stopped by old skin.

You can purchase a pair of loofah type bathing gloves. They exfoliate. Then try a sugar/olive oil rub on your knees and elbows. You can substitute salt for the sugar. Amazon.com: Bath Accessories Bathing Gloves: Beauty.

I rub my elbows and knees with coco and real shea butter after every shower.
