Stewart has very clearly earned that rep as a cheap obnoxious prick. He's one celebrity I once met that I wish I hadn't have. He was dour, mean and penny pinching. He came into the restaurant I worked at in college and didn't behave very well at all, arguing the cost of the meal down to the penny before paying and leaving. His daytime attire was his stage attire in the 80s, tight animal print polyester pants, loads of tacky scarves, enough makeup for a hookers convention. I was on my break when he strolled in and I giggled to a co-worker that you're really have to be desparate to be dressed up as ol' Rod replete with orange eye shadow and spikey hair. Turns out it was really him, he was truly unpleasant to everyone that crossed his path there. Interestingly enough his tour that year was traveling by bus, playing right into his rep for cheapness.

I do remember reading interviews in Circus magazine and Creem magazine during the 70s where he referred again and again to an illegitimate child he had with some pal of a model in the 60s, what a mistake it had been to have a child but that everyone was doing it..wah, wah...so he has acknowledged her but not in the way she's wanting. She's way older than his last few girlfriends/wifes. Leopards and assholes never change their spots.
