Henry Winkler could fit this. He had a hit with Happy Days, a spin off of Laverne and Shirley. He had a show in the 90s called Monty.

Scott Baio fits, but if he hates blacks, I would see him having a hard time working as a director on shows like the Parkers and Wayans brothers. You know if he had done something, they would have put it out there. He's appeared on at least 4 series, not 2.

Here is another guess: Rene Auberjenois. He found fame on Benson in 1979. He would not be a regular on a series until Star Trek Deep Space Nine, with Worf, portrayed by black actor Michael Dorn.
