What the hell does he mean with the "I wasn't in my right mind"? Temporary insanity? Drug stupor? Under some magical spell of lust? He knew what he was doing, that it was wrong, and he did it anyway. Just own up to it. Nothing more infuriating than the "I couldn't help myself, so it couldn't possibly really be my fault" line.
