I'm not the best with these kinds of definitions but just to say that I think of styling as in magazine styling. Objects are selected to create a mood, a setting. Elements working well together but not "creating a harmonious space reflecting the person's needs and wants". Designing a space can mean that there is a plan to carry out a specific purpose, no matter how clean or cluttered. A bank, a tv room, etc. A chair and rug with a well placed painting, to me, is not designing from the heart.

Maybe Suede can add to that.
