Male of female, if you take advantage of a child and rob that child of their innocence-it is wrong...and is punishable.
I think it is because we see females at the nurturing, motherly type and that is why we have a hard time seeing them as a true pedophile, but anyone that has sex or attempts to have sex with a child is indeed a pedophile.
