^^I've thought that too. Especially if you never loan your makeup to anyone, which I don't. I mean, things will tend to dry up after a while if they aren't being used and lipstick will get waxy, but other than that, I've never experienced any problems. As long as you practice good hygiene, keep your brushes clean and things tightly closed and out of the sun, I don't see why they shouldn't last.
