Growing up as a lonely only child, Debra Hicks dreamed of one day having a big family.

And some kids hate their siblings so much they wish THEY were only children - grass is always greener, yet? Still, nothing like having kids as a means of working through your childhood issues, is there?

But her hopes appeared to be dashed when she tried to have her first baby at 17.

Still lonely at 17, huh? Does the phrase "getting a life" mean nothing to this woman???

Doctors discovered that she had a very small pelvis, and could not give birth naturally.

I didn't know there was a connection between pelvis size and brain size, but it seems there is

"Despite all the problems and warnings I've carried on having babies. No one seems to know if eight is a record."

Maybe I've misjudged her, she DOES know more than the medical profession. Is there a record for stupidity? Probably

Her five girls and three boys were fathered by three longterm partners.

Only 3 different dads? Could've been worse......

Advised to have an a termination as her life was at risk, she refused, and gave birth at 32 weeks.

But this time the complications were so serious that doctors had to act, giving her a hysterectomy.

As a result her childbearing days are over. Mrs Hicks is, however, planning to return to the maternity unit in a few months - this time doing her job as a hospital ward assistant.

Aaah, bless. Sounds like Ms Chav is STILL lonely and the kids (including the newborn) just aren't enough company for her after all.
