That's pretty much what I thought too. Now that John Mayer is in the headlines again with Cam, Joe needed to revive Jessica's tabloid career. Honestly if we think about it, that's all she's got now... Her movies (if you can call them that) are straight to video, her last album sucked, and her social life is waning...
I honestly don't believe this for one second, you don't go from hooking up with hot models one minute to Jessica Simpson the next.
