That story is a total load of crap - he prob. got caught once and got a written warning on alligator alley ... 123 in a 50 after a warning - thats a 5000$ fine, no cop in the U.S. would pass up that quota.
Another reason I think its crap - Miami to Tampa speed limits are 75 mph not 50.
