THE COMMERCIALISATION OF THE RECORD INDUSTRY IS TO BLAME ELTON!
Seriously, it's all well and good for him to bitch about how crap music is nowadays, but the apex of his career happened to be at a time when quality was taken into consideration, as opposed to just global sales potential. Artists were signed to 5 album deals etc, and not just automatically dropped if sales were initially poor...they were allowed time to develop.
FUCK YOU ELTON! For God's sake, they kept you on when your sales were slumping. And for the record, I know tons of talented musicians/songwriters/bands who can't get anywhere in the current music Industry, and due to the way in which they treat you nowadays, wouldn't want to anyway.
God, that has made me fucking angry!
