But you have to use that clout in cases like Isaiah Washington. For example, if Isaiah were white and T.R. were black and he had used a racial slur, blacks would have been boycotting ABC and probably their advertisers until he got fired. That's what gays should have done, and ABC and their advertisers would have taken notice.
That's what got Don Imus fired. It had nothing to do with his comments or Al Sharpton, but more to do with the fact that advertisers were pulling out and were afraid of their products being boycotted.
