I think it is highly ironic that a black man, who in a culture where racism still exists, would himself exhibit bigoted behavior. I would expect a minority to be more tolerant and understanding of another minority, especially one that is currently so openly ostracized. I don't think anyone is given a free pass. I think I just would have expected a more understanding view.
