Last week, Babyshambles wrapped up the recording of its second album, and over the weekend, Pete Doherty and the boys threw an impromptu soiree at the recoding studio. Kate Moss was away on a modelling assignment, so when Courtney Love heard of the situation, she made herself available to the band. Lucky them.
Not surprisingly, Courtney narrowed her scope and made it known to all that she was quite interested in our antihero, and his attempts to ignore the slut only made
Courtney try even harder:
“Pete couldn’t escape her. She was all over him like a rash.”
Although Pete made it clear that he is engaged to Kate Moss, this certainly won’t deter the professional widow from many more future attempts. After all, Courtney is nothing if not persistent. She pursued Kurt Cobain for a few years before she jumpstarted the courtship
by punching him in the stomach. Kurt made the mistake of punching back, and before anyone knew it, he was married and dead (both terms being mutually exclusive, of course).
When Edward Norton fell for the crazy bitch, no one knew how it happened, but it seems he had little choice. While Courtney paid a
$100,000 salary to her dog walker, she spent her time
running errands for Edward and breaking Gavin Rossdale’s heart until Edward would go out with her:
“Edward [Norton] was a tough one, too. It was about eight months of me pretty much going grocery shopping for him every day before we dated.”
After her split with Norton, poor Jack White ended up on Love’s hit list. She subtly announced her intentions during a joint interview with daughter Frances Bean Cobain for
Blender magazine:
“Maybe I’ll meet Jack White (singer and guitarist with the White Stripes) and he’ll be my boyfriend. Mommies need to get laid, too.”
Frances replied: “But Mommy, you intimidate men!”
Luckily for Jack, he inadverently and narrowly escaped the clutches of Love by abruptly marrying model Karen Elson. Thusly, the only way for Pete to escape Courtney is by going down the aisle with Kate. Or he could just talk Billy Corgan into making that
awful mistake for a third time. Good times, mate.
